News
Update February 10, 2004:

We have some news!! Yippee!! It has been a while. The most important news thus far is the release of 12:5, an all acoustic album, which will be available to us on February 24. I am sure there are others anticipating this as much as we are.

Daniel has been busily working on BE, and currently he and Johan Langell are recording the percussion for the studio release. BE is due out sometime this Summer, but no firm dates have yet been established.

In the fingers crossed portion of the news for February is the possible release of a BE DVD. It was recorded for that purpose during the live events, and we are hoping that this DVD wish comes true sooner rather than later.

So far, there are no Pain of Salvation shows scheduled for the States, and I am unaware of any scheduled abroad.

Daniel, who seems infinitely busy these days, will be appearing on the new Flower Kings CD, singing more lead vocals with Hasse .... according to Roine Stolt.

On a fan club note, the band had a meeting prior to the New Year, and some decisions were made about handling the fan clubs. I think the plan is to start sharing information, so that we who are far away can have our club, be successful in it's endeavors, yet plan our own events as PoS hopefully does more shows on our homeland. I'll keep everyone updated as best I can. Along with significant fan club changes will come a new web page.

Update November 18, 2003:

Well, here we are in November already. Pain of Salvation have been keeping busy this Fall. They did multiple live presentations of BE in their home town of Eskilstuna, Sweden in August. I don't personally know of anyone who went, but I hear it was awesome (I have actually not read anything about it, as I want the DVD to be a surprise)

Kristoffer was married to his love, Liselotte this past Summer. Congratulations go out to the newlyweds.

Daniel has toured the States and Europe with The Flower Kings. We were able to catch 2 shows in Massachusetts and New York City. It was a good time, but wishing it was Pain of Salvation. There is a new Flower Kings DVD for sale, called Meet The Flower Kings. Daniel does appear on this DVD as well.

Also, Daniel just returned from a couple of special shows he did with Mike Portnoy, tributing Led Zeppelin. The project was called Hammer of the Gods, and they performed a couple of shows early this month.

Now, the rumor mill begins: As far as I know, and it was a quality source (Daniel), a live, unplugged CD will be released soon, as will a DVD of one of the BE shows from Eskilstuna and a CD of BE, recorded in the studio. BE was to be recorded this Fall, so hopefully our friends are hard at work right now :)

I am still hunting for a way to give you all more than an email update twice a year..... so any volunteers for a fanzine or anyone with some current ideas, please email me directly.

Update June 3, 2003:

All in all, it has been a quiet Spring for the boys in PoS. They have played several sporadic shows, however. The first were 2 shows in Greece, which also was their forst visit to the wonderful country. Then, they played Headway festival in Holland. Next in line was an unplugged show in their hometown of Eskilstuna, Sweden. There is a sampling of the song Chain Sling (go Johan H) at http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/sormland/program/index.asp?ProgramID=371 . The most recent show was in Norway on May 31.

Next in line is Gods of Metal festival in Milan, Italy on June 8, 2003. June 9, 2003 marks the first ever Italian fan club party, hosted by Spirits of the Land, which is the Italian fan club (of course). The party will take place at Indian's Saloon in Milan, beginning at 16:00 with a meet and greet session. Three bands are playing between 17:00 and 20:00 -- Then PoS will put on an unplugged set. Sounds like a great time will be had by all. If you are interested in this gathering, you can email Mirco Cingolani at mirco@painofsalvation.it

The end of June brings Daniel to the States on a mini tour with The Flower Kings. This tour will last between one week and 10 days. It is concentrated on the East coast, and will visit Nearfest. I recommend catching a show, if you can! Details can be found at http://www.theflowerkings.com

It does not appear as if PoS will make it to the States any time this year. Hopefully, the Fall will find them in the studio recording the follow-up album to Remedy Lane. This should put a smile on everyone's face :)

As a side note, I am trying to put together a fanzine, but information is sparse. If yoiu have any reviews or other interesting information to share, please send it along. I have some great pictures, and I am also interested in having a fan speak section, so just send along your thoughts of the day and current music likes/dislikes
